Our history

1949 m.

We started dating back to 1949, when the Road Engineering Division was established in Vilnius after the Second World War.

1966 m.

The Road Engineering Unit became the ninth Vilnius Road Construction Board. It constructed the main highways of the Vilnius region, connecting the capital of Lithuania and the country's largest cities. The company was then known as an experimental company - it was the only one in the Baltics to lay concrete pavement.

1993 m.

The company was one of the first in the country to be privatised and was renamed "Sauskelis" on 29 March 1993.

1996 m.

Since February 1996, when Jean Lefebvre, one of France's oldest road construction companies, acquired the company's shares, Sauskelis has been a joint-stock company between Lithuania and France.

2004 m.

Jean Lefebvre later merged with other French road construction groups and changed its name to Eurovia. On 29 April 2004, AB Sauskelis became AB Eurovia Lietuva.

Today

"Eurovia Lietuva is modern, growing and changing. Starting out with just country roads, today the company's range of projects has expanded to include city streets, pavements and cycle and pedestrian paths, airports and railways.
During its existence, the company has opened two asphalt plants and laboratories in Vilnius and Klaipėda, and expanded its quarry operations in central and eastern Lithuania.
